Rev Neil Galbraith (chaplain of King's Park Secondary School) is the First Keeper of the Sconestone, and brought it to King's Park Secondary shortly after he was announced as the First Keeper, at a concert at Scone Palace by Runrig on 29 August.
The Sconestoneis a small stone carving inspired by ancient Scottish carvings that will be sent on a ‘journey of Kindness’ around the world. Designed by Canadian-born sculptor Warren MacLeod, it was inspired by his keen interest in Scottish history and traditions stemming from his proud Scottish heritage and the stories he learned and the people he met during an extended stay in Inverness. The Sconestone will act as a symbol encouraging those who have touched it to do an act of Kindness and ultimately help in their own small way to make the world a better place. Every person who touches or cares for the Sconestone must do their part and make a pledge. The Sconestone was officially launched and Rev Neil Galbraith announced as the first keeper of the stone at Scone Palace on the occasion of Runrig’s live concert at this historic venue on 29th August 2009.
