S5&S6 Powering Futures

Delighted to share this great video showcasing the brilliant work of our S5&S6 Powering Futures teams.

This fantastic course helps build an understanding of sustainability for our young people but also helps them develop meta-skills like communication, analysis and collaboration to help prepare them for the world of work.

Well done to Esma, Mark, Lara, Matej, Abdullah, Maya and Jack who all successfully gained the Level 6 award and delivered excellent presentations to the panel of industry judges!

We’re looking forward to welcoming our new Powering Futures class in June and excited to continue our partnership with this great organisation whose mantra is to support young people to be happy and successful in their futures 😀

Diversity Ambassadors

A group of our S3 (new S4) diversity ambassadors presented today at a Conference for all Head Teachers in Glasgow – All Learners, All Achieving. Along with Miss Anderson Aziz they did a great job of sharing their brilliant work including:

  • contributing to staff learning on anti racism
  • celebrating diversity with their events
  • promoting inclusion for all and upholding the rights of the child
  • updates on their photography project with Simon Murphy

Well Done 😃

S3 Duke of Edinburgh Expedition

Our S3 Bronze Duke of Edinburgh group is currently out on their qualifying expedition in the scenic Pentland Hills.

Over the course of two days, the students are putting their navigation, teamwork, and resilience to the test as they hike through varied terrain, carry full expedition kits, and camp overnight. This challenge marks a significant milestone in their Duke of Edinburgh journey, showcasing their dedication and adventurous spirit.

We’re incredibly proud of their efforts and look forward to welcoming them back with plenty of stories and accomplishments to share.

New S4 Physics and Chemistry pupils went on a trip to the Science Centre and “All Energy” Conference at the SEC. We watched a fascinating IMAX film about global warming and the need for renewable energy. We then had a tour round the Science Centre before heading over the river to the SEC to explore the stalls of renewable energy companies and got to speak to lots of people in these industries to find out about the innovations happening around the UK to help tackle the problem.
