Memory Lane - Shirley Kennedy 12/05/2012 08:03:43
Hello, just wanted to say how much the school has changed. My family lived at 25 Fetlar Drive, before we emigrated to Australia in 1964. My sister Carol, attended KP. I also have memories of attending after school or late afternoon classes at KP. I learned Judo, and other skills which have held me in good stead. We have lived in Australia (on Sydney's Northern Beaches- Mona Vale) for almost 50 years and it was strange looking at the images of KP, from an adult perspective. It is funny how your memories are enhanced in hindsight. I wish the school continued success, and would encourage students to see school as indeed the best days of their lives. Regards Shirley Kennedy

Good Time Remembered - Rod Macneil 23/03/2012 12:29:31
Having just read 'Sandy' Naismith's comments it brought back fond memories of the teachers and friends during my time there until 1973.I went onto University after and now live in England.Hope things have not changed to much !

79-83 - Alan McGrotty 20/02/2012 20:17:57
I went to KP 1979-83, had a fantastic time and met alot of great people. I can't beleive its almost 30 years since I left school but the memories live on especially the easter trips with Mr Thomson and co.

Good times. - Alex "Sandy" Naismith 15/08/2011 06:53:48
In my surfing I found a link to K.P. I left in '73. But it gave me great memories and set me up for a good career. Nowadays I live near Vancouver in Canada. I will always treasure memories of friends and teachers of that era and have a lot to thank Mr Gillies the then Head for. I understand he passed away recently. Scarey Mr Crawford and Miss Johnstone in Maths, Mrs Anwar was nice, Mr Jamieson in Physics was wonderfully eccentric and Millie Martin (English) quirky. Thanks for letting me share.

Former Pupils' page - Margaret Barr 25/04/2011 11:25:39
Thanks for your kind words Ian, and for sharing your happy memories. As you suggested, we have set up a page for Former Pupils, under the main menu item 'Our Community', and hope that you will make the first post to that page.

Great website and brilliant video put together by the Students. I attended KP in 1959 and 1960 until I left for Toronto in August 1960 -lots of pals and good teaching (even Mr. Tawns).

I see you have nice new digs now - I was looking at the Kingsbridge Drive location on Google Earth Streetview and reminiscing.

I'm glad to see you still do PE and the school dinners look better... North American children could use both.

The teaching was so advanced from KP that they put me forward a full year in Toronto partly because I had 99% in Latin of all things.

The rest is history - I went on to become a Chartered/ Quantity Surveyor, and started a Real Estate Development Company in 1980 and have been building Condos and Hotels etc ever since.

I loved my time at KP (strap and all) - it helped make me what I am as a person today (still with the same accent I got 'off the boat with at 15) - retirement isn't even on my radar -must be that Glasgow spirit -it's even in my Company name......

Keep up the good work,

PS - maybe your webmaster could consider an "Alumni" page for all past students to trade life stories and maybe even cast some pearls of wisdom from around the World for the students to expand their horizons for their futures.

I attended Kings Park Secondary from August 1979 until June 1983. Great time I had a school. Moved to Bishopbriggs in 1983 and then returned back to the southside when I married.

Teachers - Margaret Barr 19/07/2010 18:49:14

Hey i am a former pupil of KP finished in 2007. Website looks great havent really seen it before!! This school was fantastic to me now 4th year forensic chem student on placement at RSSL Wouldnt have been possible without the teachers here! Good luck everyone!

Wow - Alison McLean 29/04/2010 18:42:15
What a great site you have. I was a pupil at KP between 78-81 when I emigrated to Canada. I am shocked at the number of teachers who are still there; that is unheard of in Canada, where the turnover in staff is constant. Will visit the site regularly to keep up to date with what is going on.

Old Photos - Margaret Barr 11/04/2010 01:39:18
Thanks Scott. Sorry about the delay in posting some old photos. We do have a few, and we'll add them as soon as we can. You can also see some former pupils in 'Our Community' - 'Former Pupils - Achievers' - then click on the 'Achievers UK' logo.

As a former pupil from 84-90 I am delighted to see the old place going strong. If possible could you display any old photos as I am sure other FPs would be keen to relive some of their schooldays. Glad to see some of my teachers are still going strong. I'm looking at you Mr Gray of Maths, a certain Mr Morrison still trembles at your ruler-lack onslaught!

Course Planning Booklets - Margaret Barr 13/10/2009 22:04:43
Certainly. We are starting to put parent booklets online, and these can be found under News & Events - Information for Parents.

The course planning booklet for S5/6 courses is available as a complete document. However, the booklet for S3/4 courses is not yet available online. You can still download all the individual entries, though. Go to Staff & Subjects - Subjects - then the name of the subject you want. We're always very pleased to have feedback on all the information given to parents, so that we can improve it. Thanks for your interest.

Janie - Janie Munro 10/02/2009 10:51:12
Just to say how impressed I was with the pupils that attended the parent council last night. They were mature, articulate and from 1st years to 6th years showed a real concern and enthusiasm for the school. Thanks to them all for coming along.

Happy New Year! - Gordon Wilson 07/01/2009 17:10:21
Hello and Happy New Year to everyone!

I hope you’re all happy to be back, ready to fire in to work again!
I’ve only had four days off so consider yourself lucky!

The website’s looking good and I’m very impressed that we’re finally able to post comments!
Someone’s obviously been working hard!

I’m enjoying working away up at the Hilton Dunkeld House Hotel & Country Club, although it’s a big change from school – so enjoy your time while you can!
I hear prelims have begun for fourth year and soon to be for fifth and sixth – good luck to everyone!

A big well done to everyone who took part in the Songs from the Shows and the Christmas Concert, it was great being back for them and you all performed so well!
I’m sure I’ll be back up at some point soon but if not I’ll see you in May/June when I’m up for a few things…you can’t get rid of me!

Missing you all!

With Best Wishes to Everyone!
Warm Regards,
Gordon Wilson
