VISIT BY HM INSPECTORATE OF EDUCATION

We look forward to welcoming a team of HM Inspectors from Education Scotland on Monday 6 February.  They will spend the inspection week scrutinising our work, and talking to pupils, parents, staff and other partners.  This is a great opportunity to display the wonderful achievements of our pupils.

We will work closely with the inspectors and learn from them.  A letter for parents will be published in due course, which will tell you about our strengths and the areas which we need to improve.  The letter will answer the following questions:

1.  How well do young people learn and achieve?

2.  How well does the school support young people to develop and learn?

3.  How well does the school improve the quality of its work?

A random sample of parents have been asked to complete a questionnaire, and you are asked to return this promptly in the reply-paid envelope supplied.  If you have mislaid your questionnaire and would like another copy, please contact the school.  A random sample of pupils have also been asked to complete a questionnaire.  All staff, whether they work directly with children and young people or not, will also submit a questionnaire to Education Scotland.

If you would like further information, please contact the school.  For general information about school inspections in Scotland, please go to the Education Scotland (HM Inspectorate of Education) website on www.hmie.gov.uk
