WELL DONE HOLLY - THE SKY IS NOT THE LIMIT!

Congratulations to Holly O'Brien, one of only 12 young people in the whole of Scotland, chosen to go to NASA Johnson Space Centre in Texas in November 2010, with the Scottish Space School.  What a wonderful achievement!

You can find Holly's photos in the Gallery HERE.  After her life-changing trip, Holly wrote:

Its been a ten month process but its felt like weeks. I applied for the Scottish Space School programme in January along with over three hunded other scottish students and then attended the week long residential course at Strathclyde university with only one hundred and twenty. Forty of these pupils went into the second round of interviewing and it was the very next day that I found out I was one of the lucky twelve who would get to go to the Johnston Space centre in Houston in November. It was a once in a life time experience: from meeting others who share my interests to meeting astronauts, some of which were from the UK. I have also made many contacts which could potencially help me in the future. At no point did I feel any under great amount of pressure, I loved every minute of it and would recommend it to anyone.

The Scottish Space School at Strathclyde aims to inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers by highlighting the career and educational opportunities available to young people with an interest in science, engineering and technology.
