GIANT AFRICAN LAND SNAILS
Our Biology department - after carefully investigating how to look after them - has accepted from Mrs Gail Craig - a gift of two Giant African Land Snails! For more information, please contact Mr Gladman or Miss Warrender.
Their requirements are as follows:
Housing
Large, well-ventilated tank
Compost – to be changed every 6 weeks
Plant pots/bark for snails to hide
Light and heating is optional
All of the housing requirements are presently available to use in the department.
Feeding and water
A variety of fresh fruits and vegetables.
A shallow dish of water
Calcium
Cuttlebone provide a source of calcium will keep the snail’s shell strong.
