ANINA IS OFF TO DELHI
Anina Khamisha is one of the 12 'interaction ambassadors' - young people from Glasgow who are going to the Commonwealth Games in Delhi, as a handover for the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in 2014.  Here's a report from Anina's mum:

All the interaction ambassadors were seen off at the airport today by a host of parents and Paul Docherty, director of the British Council and Maureen McKenna, executive director of education services.

A full sixteen day itinerary is planned, with the first week in Delhi, 4 days at a residential Indian school (where all the money raised in Glasgow is going to) and then back to Delhi.

If you watch the road cycling on Sunday, hockey and athletics on Monday, diving and badminton on Wednesday and marathon on Thursday,  you might just see the ambassadors madly shouting and waving their Saltires.

Evening Times photographer was at the airport, so apparently there will be a report in the Evening Ttimes tomorrow (Saturday).

It has been a rollercoaster week, but so good to see all 12 'ambassadors' with their visas and on their way.  Many thanks for all the support she has received from staff and pupils at Kingspark, I'm sure she'll have plenty to share when she gets back!
