 MY EXPERIENCE AT LOCH EIL

The five day outward bound course at Loch Eil was a great experience, as it allowed me to meet a group of new people and learn to work with them successfully.  As well as that, it pushed me both mentally and physically, and helped me to trust others more and more as the week progressed.

The experience in itself was inspirational, as every day we were to participate in challenges and events that tested us as a person and as a group.  On the whole, the days spent at Loch Eil were great, as I made a few new friends and got to explore my strengths and weaknesses, and also explored the beautiful scenery of the North of Scotland.

MARK SCOTT LEADERSHIP FOR LIFE AWARD

As part of our Mark Scott Leadership for Life Award, we went on a trip to Loch Eil near Fort William. There we were split into teams or “clans” which included everyone from your school and a number of people from other ones. Over the week, your clan took on many difficult challenges that involved a great deal of teamwork to complete, meaning the clan really got to know one and other and develop numerous new skills in the process. You are challenged mentally and physically throughout, but after each task, you feel a sense of achievement and pride in yourself and clan for being able to overcome something that may once have been an obstacle. On the trip, you meet so many new and diverse people and push yourself to conquer your fears. It was an excellent experience.
